Silver Map

The SILVERMAP proposal imagines embedding a stylized map of the Silver Lake district into the handscape of a new community plaza to the benefit of both residents and visitors. Through edited abstraction, the map highlights not just the well-known artieries of Silver Lake, but the hidden fine grain composed of the many historic pedestrian stairways. Thus viewing the decorative map is not the complete experience, but an initiation to explore the entire Silver Lake area.
